this is a crappy dark picture of a comic strip i made for karrie for her birthday. i used to make stick figure comics for her back in highschool during math class, but its been a good 9 years since ive drawn any. most of the stories were about us doing nothing, but i also poke fun of how mean she used to be to me back in grade school. (note to karrie: its troo..!)

so here are the remnants of my house/office plants. they didnt last very long. this particular plant, i left outside in hopes that the bug infestation that it sheltered would freeze and die off. well, unbeknownst to me we had a landscaper mow the outside of our building at work, and i guess he got a little crazy with the weedwacker.

im thinking of getting a cactus, or maybe a pet rock. something that doesnt depend on my caretaking to survive.

new fam

i decided to start a family the other day. here we are enjoying a nice television program. dont ask me why seattle is in front of the TV.

balls

went and hit a bucket of balls at Interbay at lunchtime. a large bucket, nine bucks, an hour of golf. it was the first time this season id picked up my clubs, and i did better than i thought i would. thats not to say id be good playing an actual nine, cuz last year i couldnt buy a good game....

40 minutes

i ran the bridges in 45 minutes on tuesday, and in 40 minutes today. for some reason i cant beat 40 minutes. maybe if i didnt stop for a smoke break in the middle of the run...

had a perfect bowl today.

olympic sculpture park

i went to the new olympic sculpture park last nite, located one block from the pier. the park was pretty packed...theres a nice running/biking trail, and several mini beaches along the water. i ended up taking a little nap while watching the ferries. i didnt know much about the sculptures, outside of the fact that i liked what i saw.

this one reminded me of when the ewoks jacked the storm troopers on endor with their log traps.

dinner

katie and hoang came up with the idea to have a monthly dinner with our group of friends. i dont know how it ended up being the first sunday of each month, but we met last nite for the first time and it was really fun. joel made reservations at the High Life in ballard; there were about eight of us that nite.

i had the salmon. it tasted better than my cel phone pic made it out to be.

in comparison, this is the magic i had for lunch that day. im never fasting again.

jogs's

ive been jogging a couple times a week at lunchtime. it took me 40 minutes to jog over the ballard bridge, thru fremont along the water, and over the fremont bridge back to work. im guessing its a few miles but i dunno. i ran it on monday and it took me 45 minutes, so i seem to be doing a little better. i estimate that it would take a man who is in shape and not a wuss to do it in 25 minutes.

bad parenting

it's been over two months since i started raising my plants. two of the plants died about two weeks ago, i dont exactly know why.....i watered them and gave them light and stuff. they just withered and....stopped living.


my basil plants seem to be doing alright tho. at this rate, i'll be able to eat them in like ten months. if i had to rely on my own agricultural skills for survival, i would have become extinct looooong ago.
